This video was created in response to a problem in the Nonprofit Innovation Center community kitchen. Some people were leaving dishes in the kitchen sink and expecting the dishes to magically wash themselves. There was also an ant problem that resulted from people leaving their dirty dishes in the sink. This humorous video was created in order to persuade NIC tenants to wash their own dishes when the dishwasher was full.

Nonprofit Innovation Center (NIC)
SacYES created the video in collaboration with Sierra Health Foundation. The purpose was to highlight the various non-profit organizations in the building and tell the story of how the Nonprofit Innovation Center came to be. This piece gives you a sense of what the atmosphere is like in the building and offers guests a glimpse into the inner-workings of each organization. This was the first project completed by SacYES and it was definitely an adventure.
This video was a part of the Sierra Health Foundation project and was created during the summer of 2009.
Farm Opportunity
SacYES went to Soil Born Farm in Rancho Cordova and captured the footage during the summer of 2009. SacYES had a great experience and really enjoyed the time we were there (we even made friends with a pig!). The video is about how the youth appreciated the job they had on a real life farm and the importance of the opportunity that Sacramento Works provided to them. The youth workers learned many things about food production and farm life, and even said they enjoyed doing the work on the farm. It was definitely a memorable experience for them in many respects.

Employers
The purpose of this documentary was to capture the perspective of the employers involved in the program. Overall, the employers were very appreciative of the extra help over the summer, which was provided at no cost to them. One employer expressed he had an awesome experience working with a very diverse and dynamic group of young people. He also expressed that the youth were positive, motivated individuals excited to come to work. Another employer felt that the program gave the youth opportunities to experience what the real world workforce is all about. The employers had nothing but positive things to say.
